Lacy-Jo Gieger, LCSW
Therapist and Equine Specialist
HEAL™️️️ Certified Facilitator
Lacy is a New Jersey-based Licensed Social Worker who received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Centenary University followed by her master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University School of Social Work.
She has experience working with clients of all ages in various settings including office, in-home, school, and equine. Lacy’s professional background includes, but is not limited to, helping clients work through anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, self-harm, ADHD, and relationship dysfunction. Being a therapist has been a passion of Lacy’s since she was in elementary school so when she entered the horse world 15 years ago and discovered the magic of horses, her dream was born.
Lacy has owned and worked with horses in several capacities, including therapeutic riding and boarding facilities. She believes partnering with horses to help humans heal is both an honor and a privilege.
Lacy’s approach to therapy is collaborative and strength-based while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) along with elements of other mindful, somatic practices. Her services will always be client-centered and tailored to individual needs. She believes fostering an environment where her clients feel seen and heard is essential. As a result, they can begin shifting from “surviving” to “thriving” as they re-discover themselves through the eyes of the horses.
